The reason why human strive to replicate a complete illusion of the world through the myth of total cinema may be there is the thrill of the blank canvas. Each time a reality is replicated it is fresh our of the oven, untainted, fresh and ready to be explored or exploited. This is virgin territory. It is as if anything untouched by human hands retains a bit of purity, of holiness, that anything human do on this earth is unclean, up to no good and destined to head into depravity. In the digital realm of the computing world, any copy of a file is an exact replica of the previous file, and many copies can be made. This notion of mass replication of a single item is one of the most fascinating aspect of the digital world. There is no loss of fidelity or quality, every copy is exactly like the original. In fact is there any distinction between the one before and the one being copied? This idea, if extended to artificial intelligence, or robotics, is a thrilling situation where each new robot or artificial humanoid created is an exact replica from the original. If something failed there is always a brand new copy. This is completely different from the idea of life where each organism is completely unique. Each person, even with twins is born unique, it is inconceivable to have two human being exactly the same in this world. This striking difference between the digital world and the natural world is an important harbinger of value in both. With the uniqueness and originality of the nature world every occurrence of the organism is highly valuable simply because no copies can be made or replicated, with time passing the demise of one organism is a forever erasure of its existence. On the other hand the replica as a blank canvas creates the thrill of unlimited supply of the original, any failure in reinventing the model or applying a story to one copy is backup by another blank canvas. In this aspect what is the nature of keep trying on the copy? What is achieved in having the luxury of a backup? If the world is made for constant evolution towards something and continuously fail and restart, what is the value if nothing is learnt or no knowledge attained? When this civilisation failed and eradicated from the passage of time and the next civilisation starts again, what's the meaning of such evolution? Towards what?
